How to unlink the app on an iphone from an account?

My colleague is going through a divorce and his estrainged wife still has access to his eBay account via the eBay app on her iPhone.

We have changed the passwords, but she still gets access, and I believe this is because eBay adopts a "one time verification" system and her fingerprint still grants access.

There must be a way to block access, or atleast unlink the phone from his account..

Does anyone know how?

@jonjonjonnie

Please change the password on the account and also do the following:

1. Log into the website

2. Select account settings in the upper left corner under your name

3. Select Site Preferences

4. Select Third-part Authorizations and revoke the Authorizations

Revoke all and you can re-sign in if you revoked too many.

Thanks

Unfortunately this didn't help. We revoked all (11) Third Party approvals but something has just been bought so clearly in individual still has access to the account.

Password has been changed several times so they arnt using that to log in.

Any more suggestions?

I think that she is able to access the account because she has not logged off on her phone, so the session is persisting, and she doesn't have to log in again.

You can use this link to find out if your account has any persistent sessions going on. If there are, you can end those sessions from this link. Your friend will have to log in to their account after going to this link.

signinalert.ebay.com/sgninalrt/sessions

When this was tested with mobile devices, it ended the sessions on all the devices.

Unfortunatly, already tried that and they said they couldn't help

They logged a ticket with the "technical" team and we got a reply saying "change your password" totally missing the point

The problem is that they are replying via eBay messages, which means the estranged wife can read them too which makes this even more complicated.

I think you are onto something... We used this as a test and can clearly see the "session" so we tested this locally using another phone setup for Fingerprint

Signing out the session certainly logged us out of hte app.. BUT.. As soon as we used the fingerprint it still worked.

BUT.. We then ened teh session.. And then changed the password.. And now when we tried to login with the fingerprint the app threw an error (something like "an error has occured"), and now it seems we are locked out as there is no longer a fingerprint option.

The touch paper has now been lit.. Its a matter of time before we either see the iPhone appear in the list, or his Whatsapp discussion lights up with choice words when she discovers she is locked out.

Will let you know.. THanks for your help

Jon

Please do let us know how it goes. Sounds like it could be interesting.

The member who found that link, accidentally kicked his partner out while he was testing it. As I recall, there were some choice words exchanged about that. She does most of the listing on their selling account.
