I had a perfectly working Ebay app working on my Amazon Fire tablet. Recently it told me it was out of date and to update it. I tried that and I can't remember but I either got an error message or said it could not be updated. So I deleted the app and searched for a newer version of the Ebay app. It doesn't exist in the Amazon app store. I read somewhere Amazon is not offering a Ebay app because it is a competitor. Sounds illegal to me. Any info out there?
Maybe not the best choice or words, wouldn't some fair practices, or trade rules apply? They are restricting trade by blocking a competitors app. I've lost some functionality of their tablet now due to their restriction, although that's secondary.
