Ebay 2 step verification not working

I receive the message "we ran into a problem" every time I try to approve the 2 step verification on the app.  I can't do anything on the full site right now without it being approved on the app essentially i'm dead in the water.  I deleted the app 3 times and re downloaded it and it still happens.

Well, that about solidifies my own answer as with ebay, never use if need not to. I will never use anything that ebay has linked to my access of the site. Really am sorry to hear this, I almost talked myself into using this method. Thanks for posting and hope everything gets managed out.

Solved myself I had to go to the 2 step verification setting on the app and toggle it on and off now it works again must of been a glitch during the last app update.

Nothing solved. eBay – what a gang of pathetic morons - not able to implement 2FA which working perfectly on every single other site!

I am having problem with the 2-step verification also. It started about a week ago. It looks like my cell number and email address is correct (from the portion I can see), but NO CODE is ever sent to me.

It would be great if there was an easy way to contact eBay about this problem.

Usually when I have problem on the App, I will move to web browser on computer.

I am sure eBay know the error in app.

There is a solution with Firefox Browser, download  type eBay.co.UK into browser  use the sign in their verify should work properly Firefox should put eBay icon on mobile screen to.

You can switch between mobile and classic site scrolling to bottom of page.

Allows you to do a web page set up for eBay.  

Verify completes on devices no issues.

I keep having 2 step verification disabled.  I had to reenable it this morning in the iPhone eBay app. Made a purchase.  And it got disabled while I was making my second purchase.  eBay, please just enable TOTP and Yubikeys. No reason to use your custom TOTP solution.

Agreed!  This: https://www.yubico.com/ca/works-with-yubikey/catalog/ebay/ led me to think security keys were supported, but I couldn't find how to enable it even after enabling SMS-based 2FA.

Same here, asking us to verify over and over thru the day while trying to share.  Very time consuming and is it really needed?

Fast forward to the 15th of September 2023 and 2FA still gives the same "we ran into a problem" error on Chrome under Windows 8.1. This is just pathetic.
Oh and I'm not running the app on Android because that won't support Ebay.co.uk/.de/.nl.com simultaneously - I use the Chrome browser for ebay exclusively.
