EBay not running, refuses to update

Hi, I am running an I Pad Model 1460 3rd Generation with IOS 10.3.4 I have been receiving message 'your version of EBay is out of date - please update.' I have tried to do so, it will not update. I deleted the current installation (which was not accessible) no re-installed from the App Centre. It appeared t have installed the most suitable version. I tried to open it and received ' your version is out of date please update'. Any constructive advice would be appreciated.
