The description of each item should appear when buyers click on an item (in the app). Instead, there’s a link. If the description comes up it might help with order cancellations. I know buyers rarely read to begin with but showing the description might encourage them to do so. Especially new users.

There are really two description fields.
"Condition Description" - this shows when you view the item in app. Limited to 1000 characters.
"Description" - this is a hyperlink in the item in app. Shows allows HTML, formattings, markup language etc.
Be sure you fill out "Condition Description" to solve the problem you're facing with returns and buyers not reading.
Ironically, "Condition Description" isn't exposed when you list with your mobile device. You need to fill this out on a browser.

@22bluebricks there have been a couple of recent discussions here in the community about how to make sure your description info shows in the app without the buyer having to click on that link - hope these help!

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Condition description should show regardless of where you list. Ebay needs to update this.

The issue at hand is that when buyers click on an item in the app, instead of seeing the item description, they encounter a link. This can be frustrating, especially for new users, and might lead to order cancellations.
The solution is simple: display the item description immediately when users click on an item. This would make the shopping experience more convenient and encourage buyers to read the descriptions before making a purchase. It's a small change that could have a big impact on user satisfaction and reduce order cancellations.
