When you use the new image search feature on the app, it shows current listings but does not show a filter option to look at completed items. Is this the way the app has designed it to be, or is there a way to get to completed listings? Like always, I can use the barcode search and get to completed items easily, but not with image search which is terribly inconvenient and makes no sense to leave it off if that's is the way ebay designed it for image search.

Is everybody only getting active results when using image scan search on the app?

You can use the image search with completed listings, but in order to do so you must enable lockable filters first under the Filter Customize menu. Perform a keyword search, select "sold" under the Filter menu, then lock that filter setting so that all future searches default to sold items only.
Then perform your image search.

Yep that is the workaround that I had already found. I had been doing a barcode scan, then select completed and lock it, and then I could image scan and get completed results. Only thing though, is that you can't go back and forth... if you go back to active listings, the complete results will not be available again. This is plain stupid with the app and annoying. If it allows you to see the completed filter with barcode scan, why the heck shouldn't it do the same with image? Ebay needs to fix this.

At what point are you getting stuck?
Did you enable lockable filters? Try a keyword search and select "Sold items", then lock the filter option by tapping the lock icon so it turns blue? Did you see "sold" results? And then perform an image search?
I just took a photo and did an image search of sold items using the eBay app (version 6.115.0.2 on an Android phone), and the results looked reasonable to me.
