Changing email address won’t work

My current email account is no longer good so I wanted to change to a new address.  Plugged that in at the settings, but it says the email is already used.  Impossible.  Address is unique but EBay won’t allow me to use it.

Why is it impossible?

You may have used Google, Facebook or Apple sign in buttons at one time -- if so, that email address may be associated with another account that you created without realizing it.

Try signing in using that email address; if you can delete the account associated with it, you may be able to use that email address with your other account.

Or else use another email address.
