App update

Why is it every time I click on the “update required ” it takes me to the eBay update page when I click on “open” it tells me the same thing 

am I expected to buy a new iPad to get the app?

If you are using an antique iPad there are more apps than the Ebay app which will not run.

Either access Ebay using a browser or buy an newer iPad.
