Android app not supported on older systems

If you have been notified that your eBay app is no longer supported here are some steps to get the latest version onto your device. To get the most up to date version you need to have Android 6 or higher on your device.

Android 6 and up get the latest version from the Google Play store

Android 5 get an older version from the Google Play store and we recommend you upgrade your system to Android 5.1.1.

Android 4 and below we recommend using the Chrome browser and visit ebay.com.

If there are difficulties getting the update to download please try the following:

Honestly since the start the issue is still not resolved, its pathetic eBay has not come out with a fixed app, plus the ridiculous fees I have to pay

I have a Samsung Galaxy 10; I do not use Google Play, I use the Samsung Galaxy store. I cannot delete and redownload the app because it is no longer in the Galaxy Store, and I have no way to update. Attempted a few things in the phone's default browser, but eBay would constantly get hung up when I try to check my seller's page or respond to a message. DO NOT TELL ME I HAVE TO GO TO GOOGLE PLAY; that's ridiculous and uncalled for monopoly garbage.

@horse-on-wheels_manifoldspecialist

We are looking into your reports and we are not sure what issues you are seeing with the app. It looks like you have been using an iPad. The iPad should have an update available in the iOS App Store and it would be version 5.40.0.

Are you also trying to get this to work on an android device? Let us know the model and OS version on the android device.

Android app not supported on older systems

I have installed the new app on my new phone.  It doesnt even load the opening screen, just the top bar, and the a white page and the spinning circle.  I want to access ebay via my wifi, which i can from my computer and my old phone.  But on this phone? i cannot access ebay via wifi and my browser, not the app.  Yeah

So how are YOU going to fix this?  If i pull the side menu out from the left and tap login, and enter the info, it gives me a white page and the spinning circle.  Then it goes back to the opening screen, nothing but a circle jerk.

how are YOU going to fix this, i have screen shots for you.    I just tried it again and it crashed, sent in the log etc!

Have you verified that your new phone is connected to your wifi? Are you able to use a browser to go to ebay.com and search there?

Have you verified that you have the latest version of the eBay app (5.41.1.0)?

If so, try uninstalling the eBay app, restarting your device and then installing again.

If you are having difficulty getting the latest version, make sure you have the latest versions of Google Play Services (26.6.16) and Google Play Store (19.1.27-all). New phones often have older versions installed that may need to be updated.

Yes as i said in my post, I cannot access ebay via my wifi only on this phone, android 8.1.0, using chrome browser or Opera browser.  I can access these sites using my old phone much lower android version, and my computer on any browser.

All apps are up to date as you menioned.   Yes my phone is connected to the wifi.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
