Android app not supported on older systems

If you have been notified that your eBay app is no longer supported here are some steps to get the latest version onto your device. To get the most up to date version you need to have Android 6 or higher on your device.

Android 6 and up get the latest version from the Google Play store

Android 5 get an older version from the Google Play store and we recommend you upgrade your system to Android 5.1.1.

Android 4 and below we recommend using the Chrome browser and visit ebay.com.

If there are difficulties getting the update to download please try the following:

Thank you

Can you please share a screen shot of the display issues in the browser so we can look into this.

Re: Android app version no longer supported

Android App stopped working today.  Tried to update, but would not.  Have Android Version 6.01 on phone.  Phone cannot be upgraded anymore.  Tried  Ebay in browser - does not work.   Help, I don't want to have to buy a new phone.

Your phone should be able to get the latest update. Can you try deleting the app via the play store, then restarting your phone and re-downloading from the Play store.

Thanks

Re: Android app version no longer supported

Thank you for the suggestion, but already tried that - unfortunately it still did not work.  Try restarting phone also, but that did not work either.  Any other ideas?

Is the app downloading and not working when you open it. Or are you unable to download it at all?

Make sure you have the latest versions of Google Play Services and Google Play Store:

Then try installing the eBay app again.

If you have the latest version of Google Play Store (18.6.33-all) and Google Play Services (20.1.04) and a recent enough version of Android, then you should be able to get the latest version of the eBay app (5.39.0.13).

Re: Android app version no longer supported

This is absolutely ridiculous! I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that works just fine. I guess my ebay sales will not be happening as I am no longer able to use the app to list from my phone.

If you cannot upgrade the OS on your device you can still list and manager your listings using your mobile browser.

Thanks
