I was the only bidder on this item. When the auction was over the screen indicated that I did not win. I will attach.
I was buying it for a friend, so I called him and told him that we did not win. He indicated to me that the auction was not over yet although my app said it was.
About 10 minutes later I refreshed my screen and it said that I won for the original bid... That there were no other bids on the item. I have since paid and all is good. But looking back through the records when I placed my last bed there were only a few seconds left. The timestamp on the details page shows there is a nine minute difference between my last bid and when The auction actually ended.
I understand server lag, etc. I am a systems analyst. But in all of my years of using eBay I have never seen this happen before. Can someone please explain

At 3:53 my app indicated the auction was over. At 4:00 the app changed to indicate that I won. But a friend was watching the auction the entire time. So it was still going.
