The app has always been a bit unstable but since the update today, it has crashed at least 8 times on my 2018 iPad.
Anybody experiencing the same issues?

Are you using OS 12 or later?
If so, it might be worth trying to uninstall the eBay app, restart your iPad, and then install the latest version of the app again.
If you are using OS 11, try the eBay app version 5.38.0.
If you are using an OS earlier than that, use a browser to go to ebay.com instead.

Thanks for the report. Could you first try uninstalling, rebooting your iPad and then installing again.
Is there anything specific you are doing when the app crashes?
