I have this nice Elephant necklace and I can't seem to figure out what it's made out of.
I'm leaning towards bakelite because there are no mold marks, it has a nice weight and shine to it, and it looks very similar to other carved bakelite elephants I've seen. I can't list it unless I know for sure what it is. Any ideas? Thank you.

Formula 409 cleaner, or Simichrome seem to work best. Also heard tell of someone using some common household substance...was it baking soda?... anyway, plenty of info out there. Keep in mind that it does appear to be coated/treated. If you might encounter such questions in the future, you won't go wrong with Simichrome.
