Is There Any Value to This Damaged Opal?

Is this rhinestone brooch old or new???

I don't know how to tell if this rhinestone pin is old or newer. I got it with some vintage jewelry, but it is not marked (the other things were, which makes it easy). Kind of hard to get clear pictures of the front, so there are 2.It is 2-1/8" x 2-5...
