Since I can`t do a full blown mMAJOR rant without getting banned forever, I`ll have to settle for a mini rant.
I see Ebay messing with Item Specifics again...reading some probs on the tech board regarding Item Specs missing in Fashions again..I went to check mine & sure enough...it shows that I have some missing because the Blue Circle is no longer filled in. (I use Ebay`s Sell Your item Form & when you`re all set a blue circle is filled in)
Now..back last year when they had such a fiasco in the Seller Update clothing Item Specifics & I had to manually edit nearly 500 items.. took me days!! They were ALL done & in compliance..my blue circle was complete as I filled in EVERY BLASTED box they had up for REQUIRED & RECOMMENDED . Even things that were not applicable to what I was selling. That was the only way to close the circle & be in compliance so items would show up in search (according to the 'powers that be')
Now..in checking my listings..is a cwapshoot!
Some still have ALL blocks still filled in, yet the blue circle is no longer closed. Others show items missing that I know for sure & for certain have always been filled in. Required & Recommended boxes like Brand, Size, Color, Material, Style, etc!..in a few listings I checked ALL GONE!
I have pretty well had it. If they think I am gonna go in & check all my listings they to see what they screwed up..they can think again!
I just now.. in doing a new listing & using the Sell Similar..the item I was working from had the blue circle no longer closed up.(indication something was missing) YET..NONE of the Item Specific boxes were missing anything!! All were filled in as Ebay wants!
I continued to do the new listing..in a few minutes went back to the same item I was using to list from..ALL Item Specifics were gone! Vanished into thin air!
I checked a few more items..some still ok..others show missing Item Specifics, that I KNOW were there.
I`ll be dipped if I`m gonna sit here & check every blasted listing once again. If this is the reason my sales have been so disastrous, then so be it!
I`m biding my time till March when I can close the store without giving them any free money for early termination. Then I`ll list or not..be my choice. They can hand me all the FREE listings they want...shove it time!
This has pizzled me off ROYALLY!!!! 😖

I had a notice yesterday that one item is missing specifics that would be required soon. It gave me a link to the one, ein, uno, 1, item. I clicked on it thinking “easy enough.” The link went back to my seller page. There were no highlighted items.
I agree about the 3 year old thing. I’m not going back in to fix a bunch of listings. I can load up everything, take it to a consignment auction, for a flat 25%, so there is only so much aggravation that I intend to deal with.

I can tell!
I was afraid this would happen again when I read the Seller Update about the change in item specifics. I don't understand how eBay never seems to get the things they rollout right. You would think they would learn.
Sorry this is such a peta for you all. They don't seem to make a lot of changes in the vintage jewelry category, yet. Of course the one that keeps me laughing is the one where you have to name the animal your carved bone pieces came from.

Don't laugh at it; I had a listing pulled because I didn't specify the species of cow my bone came from. It appears that Ebay didn't check its Webster's before creating that prize piece of stupidity. All other species of female animal that use "cow" must also add the species. Without it, the animal is bovine (goes "moo") by default.
But sometimes you can't fight stupid, so I specify bovine even when I have no way to know for certain.

Wonder what would happen if ya stated carved from Tyranosaurus Rex bone? 🤣

Sorry I'm late to this thread. We have a pile of required item specifics coming up at work so I did a little digging and found a tool (😂🤣😅) ebay is offering. Here is what ebay says: "This tool is available on the Seller Hub Active Listings page and will allow you to download an Excel file containing all of your active listings that are missing required, soon-to-be required, or recommended item specifics."
Here's the link for the tool: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/listing-and-marketing/item-specifics.html#m17-tb1 Don't know if it would be more trouble than it's worth?

I’m thinking of tool as an adjective. Grrr...
