Some days I shouldn't get out of bed....

Got up at o'dark 30 today for an estate sale that I really didn't want to go to.  But they had silver ... that was priced above melt.  Got some stuff, and on the way home stopped for some items from a now-closed consignment store.  They were mine.  Included in the bag was something that isn't mine ... no idea whose they were.  On my way up a back stairway to get the bag, my hand came down on a leaf.  A poison ivy leaf.  I sprayed my hand with straight isopropyl pretty well on the spot and wiped on some landscaping.  Then I used hand gel and wiped that.   Then I came home and scrubbed twice and hope I didn't miss any ... and that there's none in the car or on my stuff.

Brain-damaged I came home to an Ebay sale .... of an item that had vanished into thin air. I tore the inventory area apart looking for it and... nothing. Until after I cancelled the sale and notified the buyer.   I figured out how to relist it and messaged the buyer with the link to the new listing, apologizing profusely of course.  

I think that's enough for one day. I really do. (LOL)

I went for an iced tea (diet) and an Italian ice (full sugar) instead.  Can't sleep when it's daylight anyway.

Sorry you’re having one of those...what else could possibly go wrong days?  Always reminds me of the Police song “ On any other day.”  If you haven’t heard it,  give it a listen,  at least it will make you laugh.

And on your Poison Ivy scare..should it or similar ever happen again..clean area good with straight bleach as soon as possible!  Hoping it NEVER happens again, tho  and certainly hope nothing comes of your 'brush with danger' today

Went to a few tag sales, and took some purses straight to consignment.  I seem to have escaped the nastiness unscathed.  A rude estate sale company caught the sharp edge of my tongue; I got back in my car and left with wallet unopened.  The consignment store turned out to be moving, and wasn't taking new merch ... except those bags.  Their new location is the old location of my favorite charity thrift.

Actually, dawn dish soap along with a wash in COOL (not hot, not warm, just cool!!!) works the best for removing the urushiol that actually causes the rash. It's an oil, so dawn works great 🙂 What it does is it soaks down into your pores, and if you are allergic it will cause a reaction. Washing with dawn will help remove it and the cool water keeps the pores closed 🙂

I escaped this time, but I'll remember the Dawn.  

I didn't escape five rounds with CVS today though.  I ended up leaving everything but my prescription on the counter and walking out.  Long story short, they seem to be intent on running one particular location into the ground.   There's no other explanation.

Eve, oh my what happened at CVS? Can you switch your script to another store (we have no 'pharmacy' in my 'local' town, only the one owned by the hospital, and I refuse to use them when I can get my scripts for $4 for a month at walmart! LMAO)

My momma used to 'hunt a root' (which is pi-county talk for going ginseng root hunting, lol) and she was 1000% allergic to P. Ivy, P. Oak and P. Sumac (don't let the so-called experts tell you there is no P. Oak or P. Sumac in Illinois I've seen it with my own eyes!) and she'd coat herself with Avon skin so soft oil and then when she got home all her clothes got washed immediately in hot water, twice and she shower in cool water and washed the areas most likely to come in contact with the poison plants with dawn (ie, arms, legs, & hands & feet). Not even the ultra dawn, just the plain old non ultra stuff. Works great, mostly kept her itch free!

I told CVS "for two cents and a kind word, and right now I'd settle for the kind word" my prescriptions would move to the other chain drug store across the street.  Oddly, the other CVS in town doesn't have the same problems, and it's in a mostly  "minority" area and they both get their merch deliveries on the same day from the same truck.  So... go figure.

Your mom's pi-hunting without OMG itching tricks sound about like what I've been doing about Covid-19 on grocery day.(LOL)  Every piece of outer clothing lands in the washer and my hands get scrubbed to the mid-forearm.  Face too, some days, and the hair can be sprayed with alcohol to kill any nasties. (never could get anyone to tell me how long it lives on human hair)  No point in playing games with either of 'em, poison plants or poison people.
