So I am being told that the 1099-k forms are out? Is that true. I just got a message saying I do not have a 1099-k form, does that mean its not been prepared yet, or I am not getting one? I know its not a jewelry question but I find on this board I get more direct answers. Any info would be helpful. I;ve been all over my site and can't find one to download. Am I looking for it too early? Has anyone received theirs yet?

eBay has not issued 1099-Ks for 2024 yet.
Deadline for eBay to release 1099-K forms is Jan 31st each year.
They will be posted on your payments section here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/taxforms
Note the current message on that page will say you're not getting a form which is misleading - that's how it displays to all sellers before forms are released. You'll have to wait and see if that same message appears after Jan 31 to know if you're getting a form or not.

Hi devon@ebay . I know I already tagged you on another discussion about the misleading wording of the 1099-K message. Please see above for a specific use case with the confusion it's causing. Thank you.

Mimi the threshold was changed again for 2024 filing & onward.
If you didn`t reach the threshold for 2024 (which is more than 5000, you shouldn`t get a 1099 automatically, you`ll need to do it on your own when you file
Here`s the update on it from IRS:
Under the guidance issued today, TPSOs will be required to report transactions when the amount of total payments for those transactions is more than $5,000 in 2024; more than $2,500 in 2025; and more than $600 in calendar year 2026 and after

Morning, Theresa. Maybe you can get it thru PP if Ebay doesn`t come thru?? Ebay still has until the 31st to get it to you..or you can go ahead & call on it (if you have the patience lol)

PayPal is not our payment processor @1940fc . eBay manages payments (through Adyen) which means PayPal has no visibility to our transactions or power to issue our 1099-K forms.
PayPal will only issue 1099s for sellers that process payments through PayPal, for example if they integrate PayPal as the payment option on their personal websites.
If by "call on it" you mean contacting eBay CS, that would be a complete waste of the seller's time and CS resources as CS has no power to change the federal Jan 31st deadline or to generate a 1099-K more quickly for a seller.
A 1099-K is not needed to file ones taxes; sellers can use their own records. The 1099-K just tells us what eBay reported to the IRS so we can cross-check our own records against eBay's numbers.
That means @mimiwells can go ahead and get her taxes done if she wants to, then wait up to 4 days for her 1099-K to double check her numbers against eBay's before filing.

Sorry for mixing apples & oranges, Mimi. Guess I replied before brain caught up with fingers (not the first time, I`m sure) 😉
wastingtime101 is correct in 'most' of their info. I don`t think, however I implied that you should call & ask Ebay CS to change any deadline or issue anything quicker than what they do, but merely to check on it. No biggie

Thanks for clarifying! As I mentioned, I wasn't sure what you meant. But it would still be a total waste of time to contact CS. They won't be able to check on the status of an individual's 1099-K and will at best (if informed) provide the same info posted on the tax form page.

Thanks for all the information. Its the 31st and I will don't have one, so may just wait a bit more to see if I get one, otherwise I will definitely go ahead and file. I always like to get this monkey off my back early in the year. Thanks all.
