I know I have seen this type of stone before but can't find it searching. Could you tell me what the name for it is? Thanks a lot!

If you look at the stone from the side is it clear? I have quite a few of these glass stones that have a backing on them that creates the rainbow effect. I'm not sure there's a name for them. Perhapes someone else here will know.

Agree - many "mystic topaz" are also just a piece of glass with either a rainbow foil back or a thin coat of clear irridescent glaze. A real mystic topaz is a white or blue that has sat in a gas chamber that causes the surface to irridesce. It takes some serious time, energy, and chemicals so pricey. They arent natural.

Thank you both. It has an open back and there is a silvery white coating there.

The colors on this seem to arc out all around the center. They are not blended.

Lovely colors! But don`t know what the cab would be called
The style reminds me of West Germany pendant necklaces..but I wouldn`t think they would have the 'silver' backing on any cabachon. Is it marked?
