Posted this on another board but haven't received a response yet. Thought I would try here as well. Hope someone knows!!!
"Hi, found this sweetheart bracelet and have some questions before I list it. It is engraved with a date of 1940. The emblem says Royal Con Air Force--I've louped it to be sure--and has the motto of the RAF. I cannot find any info about the CON in the title and everything I find refers to CAN for the Royal Canadian AF. I know there were several changes, dissolutions, ect. in the first half of the 1900's and I was hoping someone here could clarify for me. I do not want to misrepresent when listing. Thanks for any insight you can give!!!"

And this is what started the confusion for me. Motto on the right matches the bracelet. Irealize not the most trusted source for info though, lol.

Nope, I definately see CON. Specifically, I see C'O'N. Check these 3 crude photos out...maybe I'm seeing things (besides the newfound greenies), lol!

Thats an interesting locket. Crown has color and definately can see CAN, but seems to be the same otherwise. Hmmmmm.

Per Wiki:
Per ardua ad astra ("Through adversity to the stars"[1] or "Through struggle to the stars"[2]) is the motto of the Royal Air Force and otherCommonwealth air forces such as the RAAF, RCAF, RNZAF, and the SAAF. It dates from 1912 and was used by the newly formed Royal Flying Corps.
So I bet it is COW as OCN asked which is probably short for Commonwealth.
