Multi Item listings - Lots?

How will multi-item listings of non-identical items and Lots of identical products show in the new buyer experience Buy Box?  Will they populate one of the 4 Buy Boxes or require buyers to do additional searches to find these multi-quantity listings?

For a multi-item listing of non-identical items how does a seller know which upc to use in the item specifics field?

Will the listing show to buyers who search for a item in the listing whose upc is not included in the item specific field?

Thank you for the question. The way you should select a product in the eBay catalog will vary depending on the type of bundles you offer:

Manufacturer bundles that are sold in a single package usually have a dedicated GTIN (UPC, EAN, or ISBN) associated with them and should be found in the eBay catalog.

For seller-created bundles with a clear primary product (e.g., iPhone + accessories such as a case, selfie stick, etc.), select the primary product from the eBay catalog as the product for your listing (in the example, select the corresponding iPhone from the eBay catalog).

For seller-created bundles with no clear primary product where all included items are related, choose what you believe to be the most popular product in the bundle and select it from the eBay catalog as the main product for the listing and check the bundle checkbox.

For seller-created bundles that do not have a clear hero product and there is no clear relationship between products in the bundle, don’t list the items as a bundle, but create separate listings for each item instead.

In all of these cases, apart from selecting the right product from the catalog, you must also set the “Bundle Listing” item specific to “Yes” and clearly itemize what’s included in the bundle in the item description field.

We have several Multi variation listing with sales history in the 5K to 10K unit areas and we would like to retain these buyer engagement factors moving forward.  Is this going to be possible and how much will these areas factor into your highlighted item selection?

Yes. In order to comply with the new catalog requirements, you are required to provide a valid GTIN (UPC, EAN, or ISBN) for each variation in multi-SKU listings within the initial product lines. Later this year, we will expand this requirement to more categories and product lines.

So help to make sure I reading what you are saying correctly.  I already have the UPC numbers for all variations in the listing now so eBay should be able to recognize those attributes are make sure this listing is included in the proper product pages and I should not have to do anything else?

Yes, you are correct. eBay will be able to recognize these attributes so long as the GTIN you provided is the right GTIN for each variation.

I have a very large amount of my items listed in multi-variation listings. Most of them do not have UPC Codes. I am I going to be able to keep those items listed?

Why are you worried? You have no listing and no sold items.

Our guidance is to provided relevant product identifiers for each variation level when available. Please bookmark this page as a reference for categories and subcategories where we require product identifiers.

Yes I can see new items are required to have a UPC ect. However there is no UPC for most of my items. If there is I add it. What am I supposed to do with almost all of my inventory?

Editing the post to change "when available" to "as required" doesn't make the question go away.

Multi Item listings - Lots?

I'm not entirely clear if these responses apply to the limited items included in "Wave 1" (the categories currently covered by the Update), or if they're for the entire site.  Regardless, eBay is serving items outside that scope using the "new experience" right  now, and these questions are going to face other categories soon.

For seller-created bundles with no clear primary product where all included items are related, choose what you believe to be the most popular product in the bundle and select it from the eBay catalog as the main product for the listing and check the bundle checkbox.

I don't recall ever seeing any bundle checkbox.  I am currently listing without the catalog, but eBay is associating some listings with a Product anyhow.  It's usually not an item in my "bundle" at all.  Should I be selecting one of the items in my "bundle" myself, and listing with the Catalog, to prevent this?

For seller-created bundles that do not have a clear hero product and there is no clear relationship between products in the bundle, don’t list the items as a bundle, but create separate listings for each item instead.

So now "Junk Drawer Lot" sellers are going to have to write 35 different listings for items the know little about, most of which aren't in the Catalog anyhow, and none of which are worth enough money to justify a buyer paying to have them shipped anywhere?

In all of these cases, apart from selecting the right product from the catalog, you must also set the “Bundle Listing” item specific to “Yes” and clearly itemize what’s included in the bundle in the item description field.

So, you're telling me the sellers who sell 5 lbs. of world coins are going to have to set an item specific I've never seen to "Yes", and then itemize the 417 coins in their bundle in the Description?

 Thank you!!

None of the questions I posted on the Seller Update boards have received responses from eBay and they are not difficult questions. 3 questions on this board and one on the shipping enhancements board.

In reference to your other post- I think eBay is missing the point of bundling some items because they have value as a lot but don't make sense to list as individual items. The "bundle" item specific is not available for ALL categories last I checked...
