Do Auctions Still have a place with the new product driven format?

I noticed Ebay is silent on the seller Update with regards to Auctions.

Will Auctions as a whole still be a part of Ebay as a format choice?

How about Best Offer, will these choices still apply moving forward?  If NO, when is Ebay planning to phase these choices out?

Is it gonna be purely instant gratification with no other options for buyers or sellers?

Any insight appreciated!

Hi @travelchic1

Yes, of course, we will still have Auctions moving forward - they're a very important part of the eBay marketplace. Best Offer will remain too.

Thank you.

Don't expect a reply from the ebay employee "experts".    They have tunnel vision when it comes to their new product driven format.   They don't have a clue about who their buyers are - they think they are all millenials just looking for a cheap deal on new merchandise - not interested in quality or condition or recycling.

Auctions aren't a big enough percentage of their business to merit any concern.

I doubt they'll get rid of auctions but I've not seen any support for the in years, when I got free promotions they've been towards buy it now. I use to do auctions weekly but they've been dead for years, too many duplicate listings have they ebay won't remove, 5-10 exact same items, drive's prices down to the point I stop selling alot of items.
You can see from the latest updates ebay is moving towards fixed massive stores, getting rid of what made ebay great, moving from flea market-garage sale to a dollar tree style Chinese junk.
