Cast Iron Tool. What was it used for?

This tool is marked "? W Spaulding Co" (not sure what the first initial is).  I'd love to know what this was used for. Thanks for any clues.

I can't tell you what the tool is from that one photo and no measurements, no description BUT the first initial is probably A.  Albion K and Alpheus M. Spaulding made a wood handle wrench in the late 1800's.   Augusta Wrench Co wood handle wrenchs were made by Spaulding.   Maybe that will give you a starting point

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm sorry that I've only got the one photo, and it's not very good quality. I saw this at a local restaurant, and thought it was a great looking tool (probably because I love cast iron). The employee that I asked didn't have any idea what it was. I'm guessing it was about 12-14 inches high and 8-10 inches wide.
