Hi
was hoping some one could help. I sold a purse that I had authenticated then the ebay authenticators say it did not pass. I am looking for an explanation of what and why it failed. Below the info I got and really confused did it fail because it truly is not real or did it fail because description was not good enough? Is there a way to get a summary of findings made by authenticators and have it more informative then what I got?
We recommend relisting with a more accurate description and detailed photos to avoid a similar outcome in the future.
Anybody understand what and why it failed?
thank you in advance

Ok, we should reply to the posters answer to our authentication question : nwrains, I think your money was well spent on the COA. It looks to me like if you just relist it, and make mention of each red 'Fail' area that you received from ebay that you should be able to relist it, just with better descriptions of those areas. You probably should call ebay first about this. Good Luck.

Money well spent on a COA from a service that has a TERRIBLE reputation?
Do you realize that RA has among the worst reputations in the authentication world?

Hi. I had the same thing happen with an authentic Gucci purse. eBay "authenticated" it and failed it on all points then sent me emails that I took exception to, mailed the bag back and cancelled the sale. No discussion, no contact phone, nothing. I fell humiliated as well as the loss of $$$ for the sale.
I filed with the BBB for both a claim and post to let people know. I went back to where I purchased the item and they were amazing. It had already been authenticated by them but they did 3 additional authentications. eBay's response from BBB was slow, long and lacking in action. It was a pass off for me to start a chat session on eBay to resolve. How effective is that? Not. I replied to their response and supplied all of my authentications.
good luck. it is painful.

Hi there. I've had three fail in a row, and varying degrees of helpfulness when I call in. May I ask where did you get these wonderful suggestions? For the most part I am completely stonewalled and have no idea why they failed.

Hi there, me again. By wonderful suggestions I mean where did you get the notes, that you needed help deciphering, from eBay? I get no notes whatsoever, can't tell if they think it's fake or just not described completely....

This is speculation because we have no idea of which bag and if it's one of the items in your completed listings.
Based on your post, I'm assuming you sold a bag 3 times or sold 3 different bags, all of which were brands and at price points that required authentication prior to being forwarded to buyers.
Is this correct?
And are you saying that the bags were rejected by the authenticators?
If so, I assume they were returned to you and there should be an explanation in your ebay messages as well as a copy that would go to your email.
I only see one Gucci Marmont bag (pink) in your completed listings but it's not showing as having been sold. It shows as out of stock.
If the bag was deemed as fake, not only would it have been rejected by the authenticators but they would have removed the listing and you'd have a counterfeit ding on your account. Since I can see the Gucci listing, it wasn't removed as counterfeit.
From what I've read in posts here, when authentic items are rejected, it's usually because they've deemed that the listing (pictures and description) don't accurately portray the condition.
Please look through your messages and see if they tell you the reason for their decision.
