I bought a Louis Vuitton bag from a lady that lives near me. I had my girlfriend who has worked at Nordstroms for 8 years authenticate it and tell me it's 100% real.
I searched before I listed it and found several others that were both sold and selling of the exact same bag.
So I listed it today and then an hour later I get an email saying the listing has been removed for trademark violation.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am truly sorry but we did try and warn you. The boards are a wonderful tool but virtually anyone who posts subjects themselves to scrutiny by others which can cause major problems for anyone with counterfeits listed.
Hopefully you’ll be able to sort this out OP and continue with your electronics.
To All-Take note of this and if you post definitely keep watching your responses so if something is called out you can immediately take care of it before you have an issue and if you don’t know what you have, post on the appropriate board prior to listing.

Everything is wrong with that bag - your friend who worked at Nordstrom's was completely mistake.
Write FAKE on it in indelible marker and give it to small children to play dress-up; that's all it's good for...

The bag is very, very fake and was rightfully removed. Please post here in the future to get help with authenticating before you list. There are many knowledgeable people here, who are happy to help.

If you had taken any time researching that bag you would have immediately seen that the colors are completely wrong and that it was made WITHOUT an interior patch.

Oh that is so très merdique! Not only with the font all wrong, but even stamped askew on that patch.
Ditto Vanessa, write FAKE across it in permanent marker (do not donate or sell it elsewhere) or just cut it up before throwing it in the trash.

Now there is a perfect example, or "teaching moment", for those who may still believe that Sales Assistants can verify designer goods for them. Simply working in department store or designer boutique sales for years doesn't imbue a person with any special insight or abilities regarding products sold at their workplace. On the contrary, they often know far less about the brands and products they sell than the dedicated brand specialists who buy them.

Yep I definitely learned something!
thank you guys for the help!
And I should stick to electronics lol.
thank you all 🙂

My issue isn’t about asking others who claim expertise to authenticate (which is definitely not a good thing to do unless you know that they truly are expert on a brand) it’s the statement that you researched first:
“ I searched before I listed it and found several others that were both sold and selling of the exact same bag”.
Really? Then they should be reported too.

One more thing, Travis — are you aware of & up to speed on how to avoid all the fakes flooding the electronics & computer market? It's a minefield out there! Seriously, some fakes can really harm you.
This site's pages should give you an idea of what to look out for: https://www.thecounterfeitreport.com/
And check out all the sub-categories there under Electronics & Computer

As to that Kate Spade bag you have listed, you need to end that listing. That bag is also a fake.

Travis are you not reading this? You still haven’t ended that Kate Spade and you have to know that many people are reading this thread-most will check out threads with multiple hits to see what’s going on. Someone will report that bag and your account can’t afford another hit for listing counterfeits.
I dont think you’re intentionally trying to scam, or you wouldn’t have come here in the first place, but you’re listing stuff without a clue what it is which leads to the same outcome.
Please end that thing and check out all your electronics!
In the future check here for authenticity opinions on designer fashion PRIOR to listing.

No, I was not reading this, and I wish Ebay gave me a notification about it, like a sold item.
I just read it but it's too late, I didn't remove the fake kate spade bag in time.
I had bought both of those bags from one lady in my town, I'm an idiot for just thinking they were real without doing more research.
In other news, I haven't sold any electronics in 2 days (hasn't happened all month), probably because the algorithm negatively and permanently affected me.
Fun stuff.
All the electronics I deal with are vintage like Old VCRS and old Receivers, that just don't get faked because of the cost it would take to build the fake.
Thanks for all the help guys, learned my lesson, not that it matters, my time selling on ebay appears to be over, oh well.
Maybe I'll find a job delivering pizzas or something.

thank you so much Jsales, Ariver, and Gene for the help. I am the king idiot, and yep you are all correct.
"research" in something that is new to me like designer bags does not constitute searching and seeing bags that look the same, in fact it is much deeper.
