Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

Picked up a Scarf that may be Louis Vuitton but I have not been able to verify that they even made this type of scarf.  Two questions

1.   Need to know if anyone who knows more then me thinks it is authentic.

2.  If it is not, as I suspect, can I still sell it?  Of course not saying anything about LV in the listing at all and stating it is not authentic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Fake!

Counterfeit items are illegal and you can't sell it at all. It doesn't matter whether or not you use Louis Vuitton in the listing or not or even if you admit it's fake. Destroy and dispose of it. (Don't donate as that just keeps it in circulation.)

I am sorry if I sound rude but didn't you just read what alberta said ? You can NOT list fake (counterfeited) items. Fake items are ILLEGAL to sell. You can NOT sell it anywhere. Period. End of story.

@radka75 I'm sorry, but that did sound kind of rude...

Re: Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

Radka was not rude in any way IMO. Alberta was very clear in stating that the scarf was an obvious fake and cannot legally be sold anywhere. The OP seemed to ignore that and still requested selling info so Radka responded, emphasizing again. that the piece cannot be sold.

Re: Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

And I don't give a flip. OP came asking if the scarf is fake and if so, if they can sell it as a fake. Alberta replied it's a fake and no, you cannot sell it, it's illegal to sell fake items. So OP turns around and ask for advice on selling it as a fake. For real. Let's just hope my rude answer drove the point home.

@peachesjs

Instead of getting all defensive and accusing us of being "rude," you and the OP should thank those of us who are trying to help you save your account and listing privileges!

If you list a fake, whether admitted as such or if you lie and describe as "authentic," you may get away with it or you may get caught. I guarantee that if AND WHEN you're caught, your account will have big dings and it won't take long before you find yourself disallowed from selling and possibly permanently suspended.

I would assume that as a rule, most who come here for advice do so because they want honest answers. And while we may not tell posters what they want to hear, we do so to help them!

And in case you doubt the consequences of listing fakes, do a search of the boards for "counterfeit restriction," "suspended," or other terms that give a clue to what happens when sellers list fakes.

I personally thank @radka75 for speaking up, stating the rules and doing so without coddling.

BTW, @peachesjs, it's also infringement to use copyrighted images (without the rights owners' permission) that aren't your own.

Re: Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

Could you possibly tell if this is fake from one photo? You seem to know better than me! Thank you for any advice

Re: Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

Sorry but you cannot tag onto another’s thread. It’s too confusing. Start a new one titled Authenticate Vuitton Scarf (or similar). You need to post many more close up focused pictures showing tthe edge, the weave, both sides of all tags, etc.

Just keep replying to your own thread and hit the camera icon to add pictures as needed.

Re: Louis Vuitton Scarf authentication

I’m doing this ‘cause it’s already up there:

EBAYERS

Please STOP bumping old threads. There is no reason to do it unless the OP (original poster) has added new info like a professional authentication. Other comments months after the fact are usually meaningless and bumping them just wastes the time of all who are DONATING their time to help you guys. Give us a break and make it as easy for us as possible.

ALSO

NEVER tag onto the thread of another with your own questions and pictures.  We will not answer. It’s just too confusing to figure out who’s talking about what. Spend an extra minute and start your own thread always putting the BRAND in the title so you attract the boardies who know that brand.

Now, can we just let this thread die? Any comments, please START A NEW THREAD!
