It is a genuine Coach Willis bag. May I ask why you think it is fake?

Incorrect hardware, wrong country code, weird-looking leather, wrong color thread, wrong creed font. Everything about it is wrong.

I already got a refund and the seller said I could keep the bag but insists it's authentic. Hmmmm.

No, @tbear41. The bag isn't authentic.
The OP was originally correct in her suspicions and I confirmed.
There are many problems with the bag. The hardware is incorrect, the back of the female part of the turnlock is wrong, the font/text/serial number are wrong for the era of the bag, the padding on the front of the bag is wrong.....
The list of problems goes on. The bag is fake and the OP should get a full refund.

I posted before reading that you'd already gotten your refund. That's good but if the seller insists that the bag is authentic, she's bound to make more mistakes and risks getting her account dinged.

That purse is a complete and obvious fake, for all the reasons Alberta and the OP already mentioned.
PLEASE LET THE ACTUAL AUTHENTICATION EXPERTS HANDLE THE AUTHENTICATION QUESTIONS. Thank you.

I have been buying vintage coach bags for several years also. And it certainly looks like the real deal to me too.

@tbear41 and @pageka-2007
Unfortunately, you are both wrong and because you're unwilling to learn and both insist that this quite obvious fake is genuine, my guess is that as Coach sellers, you both will also list a fake. (ATM, tbear41's Coaches are authentic. I can't say the same for pageka-2007!)
Give me a few minutes and I'll post pictures showing you very obvious differences between the OP's fake and a genuine Willis from the P plant.

I've had my hands on hundreds of vintage Coaches over the past 10 years or so as well as studied the Coach authenticity guides (by Hyacinth for Salearea) and I knew right away and without a doubt, that this bag was fake. The easiest tell is that the country code is wrong. "P" denotes that it was made in Costa Rica but the creed says the United States. And that's just one thing that's wrong. The counterfeiters try their best to make an exact replica but as I've learned from albertabrightalberta and fashionclubgurl and others on other purse forums, they always get something wrong. Some are scarily good fakes but fake nonetheless. Maybe if you could hold the actual bag, you'd be better able to tell that it's fake.
I gotta say, too, that even after all these years of handling old Coaches, I'm still learning about creed fonts and hardware and stitching, etc. There's a lot of information out there and so much to learn!
I wish you the best.
