So, recently I came across a handbag listed by its designer name and in descriptions it had the designer name, measurements and no returns accepted. Based on how nah was listed and sellers excellent ratings. I believe I can trust them. However once the bag was received. I paid for authentication and results were it was a Good fake. Nicely I contacted seller and requested to return the bag. Seller explained she never said it was or wasn’t authentic since, he was unsure but had used it. Which I believe but my thing is “ if you are unsure of it being authentic” why not put that somewhere in the description. To let buyers know it may or may not be. Never had this issue and besides it not being authentic the bag fits the descriptions. Am I wrong here, do I need to ask if it’s authentic if it’s listed as the designer bag ? Anyone have this issue. Thank you I’m advance.

It deoesnt matter in the slightest if the seller says they dont know if its real. SELLING COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE IS NOT ONLY COMPLETELY AGAINST eBAY RULES, ITS ALSO A FEDERAL OFFENSE AND A FELONY ANYWHERE IN THE US. Saying they dont know if its real is called a Disclaimer Of Authenticity and is also 100 percent against Ebay rules.
How long ago did you buy it, what brand was it, do you still have the URL of the listing? Someone here needs to look at it but if its determined to be fake the seller owes you a full refund. You only have a limited time to file a claim so get started NOW. And NO, you shouldnt have to ask if its authentic! If it isnt, it cant be sold on Ebay no matter what the seller calls it. PERIOD.
Here are Ebays Rules:
We don't allow counterfeit items or unauthorized copies to be listed on eBay.
Items that bear a company's official brand name or logo can be listed, as long as the products were lawfully made by, for, or with the consent of that company.
Unauthorized copies may include items that are bootlegged, illegally duplicated, or pirated. These items may infringe on someone's copyright or trademark.
What is the policy?Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, loss of buyer or seller protections, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.

Was this on ebay? If so. I agree with fashionclubgurl but in a nutshell:Claim SNAD (significantly not as described) NOW and leave the seller a NEGATIVE feedback calmly stating: “Authenticated by Pro as counterfeit. Seller refused return”.
That feedback should stop everyone from buying from them.

You’re fine then and you’re covered. Escalate the claim as soon as the system allows. I would leave the feedback now. Do NOT mention a claim. IMO my FB suggestion says it all.
Let us know what happens!

If the seller listed the designer's name, then authenticity was implied. Your seller knows that.
Smart move to authenticate it, smart move to open a SNAD return.
You done good.

Although, even if the seller didn't mention the designer's name, if the item had logos or markings of the designer, it MUST be made by that designer.
Please post a link to the listing.

OP Please post the listing. It is fine for you to do so as it’s your purchase. Seeing the listing is important for those trying to help you.

I’d also like to know who you used as an authenticator. It’s fine to state the name since I’m specifically asking you.
