Is this Louis Vuitton Alma Authentic? Date Code Brings up LV Bags on Google

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could check in and give me an idea if this Louis Vuitton Alma bag is Authentic?  The Date Code Brings up LV Bags on Google -- however I was a bit worried bec the date code is RA-1780-003; and I read that LV date codes are usually two letters followed by three or 4 numbers.

Oh and someone said you could spenmd $7.50 and get it authenticated? Would that be a LV store, or online? I'd have to drive a ways to get to an LV store. Oh and is there a way to post more pictures?

It seems to meet the other criteria; not sure about the bottom studs, though.  I'd appreciate any help! 🙂

Thanks so much,

Julia

That serial # is seen on various LV's. It the wrong format and is ALWAYS fake. Sadly they got nothing right on the bag.

In the future if you post a luxury item and this board tells you it looks good then you can use authenticate4u for $7.50 . You can look them up on FB.

Next and more importantly, please learn to really look at the item you’re questioning. There are very high grade counterfeits out there but yours is about as low end street corner as they get. Not trying to make you feel bad but trying to help you for the future. Your bag has synthetic materials, terrible uneven stitching and a red edgestain that is bleeding and smearing all over.

When you’re looking at luxury items forget the logos and labels-instead look at the piece and how it is made and you’ll be able to answer many of these questions yourself.

Also, never go to the company itself for authentication. Although it’s possible to get a caring AND knowledgeable SA most are not. If counterfeit your item could be rightfully IMO confiscated and more importantly if the piece is authentic and older, the sales associate may call it fake even if it’s not.

Always come here here first and hopefully the next piece you post will be authentic.
