I may be wrong, but I think that might not be a logo but instead is the base on which something was originally clipped, possible a badge of some kind with the logo on it. Kind of like a custom-designed handbag equivalent of a shoe clip blank.
Here are some examples of shoeclip blanks. A purse version of this might be expected to look a bit like what you see on that woven bag of yours.
