Counterfeit Coach with serial number J4K?

Could someone please tell me if the Coach purse I have is not authentic? I have read that serial numbers beginning with "J4K" are always fakes. If this bag is counterfeit, it is a very good replica. Thank you!

In this case, what you read is correct. The bag is fake.

The reason all J4K bags are fake is that K is a Chinese plant code, not in operation in 1994. Additionally, the text of the creed states that the bag was US made.

And if you ned any additional proof - serial prefix J4K- includes the production codes indicating that it was made in September(J) of 1994(4) in Coach's K plant. That style 9146 was called a Hippie Zip and wasnt even introduced until December 1999 when it was shown in the large "Coach For The Holidays" catalog, the one with 5 Jack Russell Terriers on the front cover, as "NEW" on page 32.
