The things I enjoy selling the most are video games and what I see a lot from other sellers is selling modded systems complete with X number of "pre-installed" games (i.e. unauthorized distribution of duplicated copyrighted materials for a profit). I'm not talking about the Chinese bootleg systems; I'm referring to the legitimate systems.
Selling a modified system with no unauthorized copyrighted materials installed is completely legal and I don't have a problem with that, but inflating the price of a product because you modified it and added "1,000 pre-installed games" that you don't legally have the license to distribute bothers me a lot.
This is obviously illegal. It would be no different than taking a DVD or CD you own and making copies and selling those on eBay.
Does eBay care about this? Is this something you can get away with? Is it worth reporting? If you report it does eBay do anything? The staggering number of these you find on eBay leads me to believe this is something one can do without consequence.

Yes. Report it. It may seem like nothing happens but when several people report a seller for the same offence, ebay is more likely to take action.

Why must multiple customers report the fake item before ebay is willing to enforce their own policy?
I personally reported half a dozen obvious bootleg Nintendo cartridges yesterday and they're still active.
Ebay basically knows nothing about how retro game catridges can be faked or doesn't care.
For retro gamers, buying on eBay is a gamble. It shouldn't be. Ebay apparently doesn't allow counterfeits to be sold......yet they are being sold.
What's the deal?
