You're in the USA so best to shop exclusively here as it will save you a massive headache.
For a tablet with your purpose, I'd go to my nearest OfficeMax or equivalent, in the 10" size range expect to pay at least $100. Ask them to demo a streaming service so you can gauge the screen quality.
I can also guarantee as a fact, based on what my customers have brought into my shop for repair - if you buy a $50 tablet it will not only be low screen resolution (no matter what the ad may say) but it will also have a touch screen lag that will flip your lid.
Unless you can get a cheap "written" toilet drop replacement I'd forgo the service contract in lieu of an actually manufactures warranty, one that will pay out if it is in fact defective - most extended warranties are so restrictive as to be worthless. All phones and tablets have embedded humidity sensors which will void all warranties unless you have an exclusive insurance rider. hint within one week of opening a new tablet and you are not living in a desert those humidity sensors will be triggered - the manufacture, Verizon, or a third party warranty will be void.
