Just want to warn everyone,.... there are sellers using BRAND names in listings and shipping out GENERIC. The brand is GARRETT, stated in the title of the listing, (GARRETT GOODS are made in AMERICA. The item received says MADE IN CHINA.
https://www.ebay.com/ipp/265688398315?transactionId=2905627057016&_trksid=p2047675.l48352
can't tell ebay by phone, (like I used to be able to)
can't leave feedback and I think it might be private anyways.....
Why does ebay allow people to do this, MANY people are getting taken advantage of. Other sellers sell generic which is OK but in this particular purchase THEY USE THE BRAND NAME. So this is PURE FRAUD. And I can't call ebay to tell them. THIS PLACE HAS TURNED INTO A VERY POOR PLACE TO BUY. I am a seller and this really **bleep** me off. **bleep**!

Good for you on catching this and reporting it. Unfortunately, not everyone looking of item is question may know its background or manufacturing and will get caught in it. Buys, use it, and then eventually breaks down and bad-mouth company.
The second listing you gave clearly indicates item location in China, as for eBay, it is difficult to monitor these listings, hence its best for people to report them as you did.

Item not as described is what you have: open a case for such:
Edited to add: leave a negative: such as item not as described as well.

The page with the listing is gone. You can still open a not as described.

Oh, I reported this because this is not only not as described but a serious issue. I'm sure many unsuspecting people have been screwed by this. The problem I have is I can't even call ebay like I used to because I want a refund NOW. I was ripped off and I have to let it simmer for a few days before I can post a neg. I'm just sick and tired of dealing with these fraudulent listings. This isn't the first time. (THIS SELLER USED GARRETT in the title of the listing!) Very bad. I thought these days were over. I don't need help, I'm ranting. In case you haven't noticed. Thanks

Report it to the company that make it: ask them to join the VERO system eBay has, if they are already not a member. :
As for eBay, they do not know if you got what was said or a fake or not. : they don't care.

Ranting about it here will do nothing for you. Use the tools eBay has provided to get refunded and give the seller a defect on their selling account; otherwise nothing will happen.
1) Thoroughly read the eBay MBG (money back guarantee) policy.
https://pages.ebay.com/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
2) File an INAD (Item Not as Described) case. You can only file ONE case on eBay, and it must be done within 30 days after delivery.
3) Seller will have to refund, but may require you to send the item back; if so he will have to provide the label.
4) Pay close attention to timelines and steps during the case.
Do not communicate with the seller any more except via the case.
If you send the item back without a INAD case you will not be refunded.

I posted here because there was no one to talk to about it and I'm pretty upsest. I agree with everything everyone has said. I realize this will not solve the problem I have.
I am a VERO as well and know this maker HAS TO BE A VERO. I actually went to the GARRETT website and I could not find a contact to tell them neither by phone or email. But yes, they should have someone available to report these items because when the product doesn't work as well as their own, it's going to damage their reputation to those who don't have "the real thing."
Thanks eveyone!

SO I am looking at other's for sale on ebay. I just found this one and it's from CHINA. The pictures all indicate GARRETT. The problem is.... Garrett's are MADE IN THE USA so how can this item from China be offered for 1/3 what the TRUE Garrett goes for? So Garrett made this in the USA and it's for sale to the USA and cheaper than if purchased in the USA? This is very disturbing. (I think I saw this and is why I purchased the other because it was less $ and in THE USA. I thought it was an older model. I think my buying NEW merchandise days are over on ebay. USED STUFF ONLY.

The only people that see these post are the few that come here and read/reply. The vast number of people do not even know the boards exist. Each time someone reports these items as not as described it counts against the sellers metrics. Sorry but we aren't going to take time to report all the maybe fake product listings.
