Items ordered on 15 Sep 2017 not received - Requested resend, up to now still not received

I have paid for an item, Easydriver Shield Stepping and Motor Driver V44 A3967 for Arduino on 15 Sep 2017 and waited for it to arrive as per estimated shipping delivery dates. (about 2 months)

On 25 Nov 2017, it still did not arrive, so I requested the seller to resend. Still not received. (another 2 months of waiting in order to give chance for the seller to make good their promise to resend)

On 15 Jan 2018, it still did not arrive, and I still requested the seller to resend. Up to now, I still have not received it. (Cannot give more chance for the seller, who replied that they will send on the next working day. Furthermore, other items which I bought from other sellers, even later had been received as per the estimated scheduled dates with no problems)

Now, I received an email notification from Ebay that the case will automatically close by 12 Feb 2018.

To make it worse, when I tried to go to resolution center, the reply from the web page was that the item could not be found.

However, still browsing ebay's website, I managed to locate the item was still not resolved yet. (But the case will automatically close permanently by 12 Feb 2018 while still unresolved and cannot be open back again)

I cannot find any means to contact Ebay directly in the ebay website, so I have to post it on the forum.

Your eBay order gave you 30 days beyond the last delivery date provided to start an item not received, PayPay gives you 180 from order date to ask for your money back... what is your question? does the seller have a delivery confirmation number?

Your eBay order gave you 30 days beyond the last delivery date provided to start an item not received, PayPay gives you 180 from order date to ask for your money back... what is your question? does the seller have a delivery confirmation number?

The case was closed after the seller sent a refund and I confirmed that the money had been credited back to my bank account.

 

Ebay was good to allow me the 180 days to settle this because it was necessary to wait so long. The first order delivery wait was about 2 months. The subsequent delivery wait (2 times) took a few more months.

 

From this experience, it seemed to me that the seller had no intention of resending me the items. In fact maybe he did not send the item at all in the first place. Maybe he thought he quoted too low a price, and did not send at all.

 

I should have suspected this when I received a proactive mail very early on from him asking me not to put up a case at Ebay. Other sellers just followed the stated estimated delivery time without needing to send any mail asking me to be patient.

 

The lesson that I learnt from this is that I should ask for a refund instead of letting it drag on waiting for him to resend the item. The letter stating that he will resend the item the next working day was only to appease me. His real intention was for me to ask for a refund. In this case, when I requested for a refund, he immediately transferred the amount back to my bank.

Why did you wait over 2 months to contact seller? If I haven't received an item after 2 weeks I'm sending a message.
