So I have a cd still sealed in a long box and have no idea how to value it.
For those who don't know, cds, before 1993, were packaged in 12' tall longboxes.
I wonder how much that would add to the price?
As a wild guess, i would think a rare cd that's listed used for $100 would go for $400 or more possibly?

You can research selling prices within the past year on Terapeak. From what I can see, CDs in longboxes don't seem to go for that much, but you would want to compare the same CD with or without a longbox, and the exact CD you have specifically.

Agree with @lacemaker3 , here's one of the most popular artists of all-time in a long box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154179436996

Well it's a rare cd, I don't think I'll find a price on the longbox.
I suppose I can just list it high, and if it does not sell, edit the listing price down later? Can I do that?
I'm a newbie to ebay selling

Are you sure it is 12' long box, or 12" long box? if 12', the shipping will be outrageous. As for pricing, it will depend on how popular and rare the cd is.

oh yeah, that's the way to do it. The 'Market' determines the price, if it's like Pavement's 'Slanted & Enchanted', or some other band with a cult-like following... maybe some music nerd wants it for the novelty of it. And if two or more want it, maybe they have a bid-war for it. You win!
So yes, list it at a starting price on the first go that would you very very happy and yet still be attractive to a bidder. Then if no bids at auction end, decide how much you want to lower that starting-price for your relist. Repeat til it sells.

lol it's 12" not 12'
Do I have to relist just to change price?

@fiyakingno, you can edit price while it's live until, a) it has bids or b) unless it's within 12hrs of the end time.
