Buying from Japanese Camera Stores

I am thinking of purchasing an old film camera from a Japanese camera store on eBay. Is this safe? Can I generally rely on the purchases to be as advertised? Scams?

Like any other purchase, you need to examine the seller and make the best possible judgment you can from their history.

Buying overseas has its other challenges, such as duty fees for anything over $800, customs, etc.

I buy watches frequently from Japan and have had no issues, sometimes receiving the watch in 2-3 business days with no issues.
