There was a discussion forum yesterday.
There will be another discussion forum today at:
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/forum/March-2013-Seller/5200000027
Also today there will be a Town Hall Meeting:

You need to sign up for Ebay radio if you do not already listen to it. Sign up before the town hall meeting. Ebay radio broadcasts shows twice a week usually. They can be interesting or non interesting depends on their topics of the day.
The new updates may not effect you at all. They will effect our ebay store quite a bit.
If you are one who lists the 50 FREE items a month category. You will now be able to list a mix of auction or buy it now with 50 items.

So, this just slays me: from the spring seller up
Are fees still based on the total amount of the sale—item price plus shipping?
Yes, as buyers typically take all costs into consideration when making a purchase—including shipping. You can potentially reduce your eBay fees when you offer free or low-cost shipping.
So they charge a fee because buyers take in all costs into condsideration?? BS.. they don't take into consideration that ebay charges a hefty fee just to ship it to them..
and... HOW can you potentially reduce your fees when you offer free or low cost shipping???
How??? oh, i know.. if you have FREE shipping and then someone buys International, you save a few cents because you're not charged a fee on the very much higher international fee,
any other ways??? Other than the standard Ebay answer.. "well you become a top rated seller and you get 20%... "
i was... <sigh> ..

Once upon a time, I was a top rated power seller too, just couldn't keep up the pace I guess. I just do what I can when I can and try to follow the ever changing rules.

I've got the same problem...I don't sell enough to be a top rated seller. Well, not on eBay. I'm doing much better on Craig's List. Just sold my last motorcycle! Now I can get my teeth fixed!

I just got an email saying eBay is offering 100,000 free listings. I guess they must be hurting. I wish I had 100,000 items to sell. And the energy to list them!

Yeah, I got that email as well and thought of all times ... I could run with it if I had the items to sell but I don't and really might not for a little while as I may have fractured my hip now and am in considerable discomfort. Wish I had the stuff to sell though as I would welcome the distraction from my body and pain to list up to 100000 items. Unreal.

I've got one thing up. It's a painting. I decided I'd change the price since someone else had a similar one and was asking $3,000.00 which is way over what this particular artist's work is worth. We'll see.

Sophie it does make a person nuts trying to figure out the best way to do this. We have learned it is best to almost ignore most of the chatter in the annual Ebay spring seller updates.
They are now going to charge a 10% fee and thats it. No adding on for the shipping any more. Or needing to be a lawyer to figure out the fee structures.
The way it seems is we get FREE listings. Then pay 10% fees to Eaby. Another 3% or what ever to PayPal. Its less than before.
We just enjoy being able to do it from home. And together.
Gotta stop really hurtin
