I may be nuts but I seem to remember someone here was selling items relating to pigeon racing. If you are, please tell me. I have someone in another group I'm in who is wanting to purchase pigeon racing stuff.

That would be Ralph, aka 1pigeonracer ;
Yes I still race pigeons, as a club we race out to 600 miles in the spring and summer months. With this year's young birds we will race them out to 300 miles in the fall! Helps to keep me doing something instead of turning into a fossil.
Hope you can connect with him.

Soloinar ... did you ever connect with Ralph about the pigeon racing stuff?

Yes, I did Kate. Thanks. Sorry I didn't get back to you. Went to the allergist yesterday and found out it's not allergies...it's air quality. So now that I have the specialists input, the carpet is probably going to be gone next week. He gave me a steroid inhaler but really doesn't want me on it very long. My imune system is already compromised because of the FM and M/E and steroids make it worse.
I put Ralph and the guy from my other group in touch. Ralph, if you're reading this, hope you're feeling better.

Sorry to hear it is so environmental ... I have had to deal with steroids myself so I know what you are going through. I use a steroid inhaler twice a day for my COPD and asthma.
Is it hardwood floors under the carpeting?
Excuse my ignorance, I know what FM is but what is M/E?
Hope you are feeling better ...

Thanks soloinar!
I got in touch with Jason so he'll probably be burning up the wires with e-mail, which I think is great! I'll help him all I can. I am starting to feel better, today was my best day in two weeks!

FM is Fibromyalgia and May 12 is Fibro Awareness Day. M/E is myalgic encephelomyelitis...probably spelled it wrong...which is similar to or the same as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...depends who you ask. Some people think Chronic Fatigue Syndrome needed a more serious name. Others have differentiated between the two but it's all so tied up in research that I don't know if anyone is sure if they're the same or not. Thanks for asking.
Ralph, glad Jason got in touch. Hope you guys enjoy sharing your pigeon passion. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better!

It took 4 years to get diagnosed and another 2 to get the meds and supplements to where I could actually be somewhat functional. Now I tell anyone who asks that what I have isn't contagious, isn't going to kill me and isn't going to keep me from enjoying life. Every day I can get out of bed is a good day. And if I can get someone to smile, I've accomplished my goal for the day.

Be careful with those inhalers.
About 20 years ago we had a man working for us. He had a doctor prescribed inhaler he would be using at work. It made him feel better.
One day he hit the floor and was un-concious. As it turned out he was using it more than the 2 times a day. It caused him to have a massive stroke.
We learned back then a person using an inhaler as prescribed was fine. Over use can be dangerous.
Hope your allergies calm down,
DWB

You are very right DWB ... I use three inhalers plus a rescue inhaler and although I use them as directed ... I still get to feeling a little light headed ... ah, the side effects of the meds we take to stay well.

I've never been comfortable using any kind of steroids but since this isn't allergies, I figure I have to be open to different treatments. I think the next step is going to be seeing a respiratory specialist.

My wife uses:
Eucalyptus candles.
Gets them from Yankee Candle. Don't use them around oxygen. She has lots of breathing issues and these help her.
Also one of those Vicks triangle shaped plug in things from WalMart. They have these little pads you stick in there. She closes the door in the bedroom and turns it on. The room smells like Vicks. Helps her a lot.

I am going to try your wife's idea of the plug in ... there is a socket right by my side of the bed ... I wake up coughing at night ... have a chronic cough even at night it seems.
My cat is partially to blame ... we really should ban her from the bedroom but she is my furbaby and sleeps with us at night ... which is okay if she stays in the crook of my knees ... she likes to sleep on the pillow with me. My doc would have a fit if he knew this.
