Not getting FB from buyers

Well... I sold my 1st 2 items and did quite well, I think. But haven't received any FB from the buyers. I know the FB would help me but how do I get it without sounding pushy? Any ideas from you, wonderful people... Thanks so much, Janet

Not getting FB from buyers

I don't think this guy is smart enough to figure out how to retract the neutral ... I did leave a response to his feedback that put the onus back on him for failing to provide the apt number.  I am reshipping his package today and sent him an email requesting him to remove the neutral.  If he doesn't ... well I will just have to live with it I guess.  It bites though because this was not my fault.

This man is brand new to ebay but should have enough sense to not blame you for a postal mistake that you could not have avoided. He even adds in his comment something about "the post office should have..." This shows he doesn't really blame you but is giving FB not based on you, as a seller, but rather the postal issue.

I believe he doesn't understand the concept of giving FB. With others seeing your comment and the fact he's new to Ebay, they should understand. But I still understand you not wanting nor deserving a neutral after holding 100%. I still think ebay could help resolve this.. You should have a big fat POSITIVE for going out of your way for this seller.

Not getting FB from buyers

Back a few months ago they sent us a message where we could give our opinions on certain things.

I filled it all out it was a big deal took a long time. At the end they wanted a description of why some of my responses were low. They asked if it would be ok to contact us. I clicked YES.

They did call here and we spoke for a while. The one that got their interest the most was my reference to a buyer choosing "shipping time".

The way that question is structured a buyer can easily iterpret it that its the buyers fault if USPS or another delivery service does a lousy job of handling the package or envelope.

They realized how true this was. And were very thankful of hearing about it. Then they also talked about this on their radio show a few days later. How a seller ( no mention of the name) had brought this up.

They had a caller about it right away with that person describing another one the same way in the question thing. "Item as described". Buyers read this and sometimes think it has something to do with the damage to the box upon arrival?

Last year we had a buyer leave a neg on item described because the postal service delivered the package next door. And the guy next door would not give it to him?

We got it removed via the telephone with the buyer.

We were in the mail order business for nearly 60 years. When a buyer had a problem we always called them. Starting the conversation with:
"We are very sorry this did not work out right".

"How can we make this right?"

We never got defensive during that call. Always just let them hoot all they wanted. And tried to make them settle down. And make it peaceful.

It would work out well all the time that way. Ya gotta be prepared to listen to some balony at the beginning of the call. Then they simmer down.

Sorry bout gettin long winded here. This was one of the biggest things we did all those years. Its a big deal to this old fella.

After selling out I was doing customer service for a major corporation for a while. When they had a customer that nobody could handle they would have me speak with them. What a challenge that was. Hoooooooooooo weeeeeeeeeeeeee. 😮

These people were steaming mad by the time they got to me.

In some pain today gotta cut this short :^

Fantastic good for you.

Some of us want to have perfect feedback and work real hard to get it. Then ya see some who are getting Negatives all the time. And leave nasty remarks back and forth.

Was lookin at one recently who had 183 negatives during the current month. Everyone complaining about the same thing. He leaves a wise guy remark for every one. Can't understand how he is allowed on here.

My heart is like yours gotta keep it with no bad marks on there.

Had one last week asking "why did it take so long for you to ship this?" Looking back it went out the same day he ordered it tracking to show him. Told him I am sorry it may have been delayed in the postal system. And explained it shows being delivered in 2 days way across the country.

Then he said "O'h I got the wrong seller"!

There are some beauties out there for sure. I block them ones like you had once they start being that way. Then they can't come back.

Enjoy your weekend,.

Blocking is something I've used for years. With my being in such a niche market, it's been easy to recognize the problem buyers. Sometimes I block them based on the stupid questions they ask.

Looks like we all do this one.

How about those who start right off with a wise guy remark? They feel real tough sitting behind a desk at their computor.

Most buyers are very nice though. I meet some of the nicest ones in Australia.

Does anyone know of a polite way of asking buyers to supply FB after a purchase? Since I'm just starting to sell, the FB is important for me but seems they just don't give it. I have bought alot on Ebay and always left FB. I don't want to sound greedy..

I would suggest an email explaining that you are trying to build up your feedback and would appreciate it if they left feedback for you ... and that then you can leave feedback for them.

You can do this  ... it is a challenge to keep up the feedback but there is no harm in the asking for it I think.

I did the math on the amount of feedback buyers leave. It was only 31%. The rest do not leave it.

Tried asking for it. Not much results from it. Not sure why it is only 31%.

I leave automatic feedback both ways. When selling or buying.

There is an old saying that goes like this:

"There are more asses than there are horses"

For some reason that feedback percentage makes me think of that. 😄

Wow, those are pretty amazing percentages ... ebay sends out emails with reminders for feedback ... seems those ought to get a little response.

I still think it doesn't hurt to ask for feedback ... and I am pretty staunch in not leaving feedback until I have received it from the buyer.  As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item.

Many people are in such a hurry it seems no matter where ya go. Wondering if that has anything to do with the low percentage of feedback leavers.

I been really in pain the past few days thats why not been posting. They got me in for accupuncture this morning waiting for some relief from that. It usually helps.

Take care hope you feel good Kate,

Maybe this should be a separate topic...stupid questions...my 2 favorites...

What color is the white seat?

Is the seat softer than the one I have on my bike?

There are so many more but those are my favorites.
