April arrives early,
Like the dew that greets the dawn.
Unfolding like a morning glory,
Out on the edge of the lawn.
So fragile, yet so mighty.
So weak and yet so strong.
She reaches out to grab you,
Like the melody of a song.
She holds you in her rapture,
As eyes follow to and fro,
Your heart beats a little faster,
With a love that overflows.
April begins her journey,
So fresh and still brand new.
Each day a new beginning,
With so much to see and do.
She'll move along from day to day,
With so very little strife,
It's easy as can be when she,
Like spring, is full of life.
Some will celebrate this first day,
Playing jokes and acting cool,
But today is also the birth day
Of a baby for Mr. & Mrs. Fool.
Being born on the first,
With the last name of Fool,
They named the baby April,
Their intent was not cruel.
The Fool's already had three daughters
Each named for the month they were born in.
First came July, followed by May,
And finally, little June Lauren.
Mr. Fool was proud as any father would be,
Mrs. Fool was a happy, new mother.
Big sisters were terribly excited to be
Holding their new baby brother!
Happy April Fool's Day!

What a beautiful poem! Thanks for sharing.
My cousin's birthday is today. She has had to suffer all the jokes, jabs, ribbins and everything that goes along with April Fool's day all her life. I think the only day that is a worse day to be born on is February 29th!

O'h what a wonderful poem,
Reminded me of being out back here at first light. And looking at all the things waking up.
Thank you for the poem Kate
