CLEANING MY JEWEL BRITE ORNAMENTS - oxidation of plastic?

I bought a bunch of Jewel Brite brand plastic ornaments this year on ebay and love them... or want to love them!... but the plastic is cloudy in the diorama type (main question) and the paint on the round balls could be much brighter (I'm guessing dirt? or degradation? Just not sure.)

Can anyone tell me how to get the diorama plastic clearer? I have tried:

-Soap & water

-Windex

-rug cleaner (enzymes usually work wonders!)

Best idea:  the surface of the plastic has oxidized and maybe I could try something like a headlight lens restorer that they sell for cars.  I do know that usually involves a lot of rubbing (not too encouraging for something much smaller! ...But I'll try) and the packages are usually rather clumsy to use so I might have to think of tools like sponges or q-tips or brushes or something...   logically this makes sense to me but I am SURE THERE IS AN EASIER WAY!   Does anyone know of a product or alternative cleaning method that might improve the clarity? Thanks!

Also: short question:  How do I clean the bulbs (the indented kind not the disco-ball kind)? Or the bells?  Any tips?

THANK YOU
