anyone into antique US Military buttons?

I bought a lot of railroad buttons and this was in with them. There is no manufacturers name on the back. It looks old and worn but I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated. Looks like this was changed again? Not sure how to add picts? I'll try to figure it out. If not, sorry for your time.

When you post on here, you should see a camera icon, among other things.  Mouse over and it will say 'add photos'.
