ODD METAL ITEM BEAUTIFUL BUT NO IDEA OF WHAT IT IS

I've searched High and low but have had no luck identifying this piece. I sell lots of unusual things, but this is the first that totally stumps me.  I sell in so many different categories, and so I have no idea where to start

It looks like a curtain/drape rod holder to me. That is a screw (in the round part) that would shore up a rod, no?

You give no indication of size, but assuming the size is right:  I agree with the first two answers.  It's a ceiling / wall bracket, very much like this one:

And depending on size, could be a bar foot rest rail/pole.

Sure.  Why not?   Fundamentally, this is a bracket to hold a pole / rail / rod.
