Does anyone know the secret on how to unlock this particular clasp?

I found this really cool old advertising leather coin or change purse but I have been unable to figure out how open it...It has a hunter laying down with a rifle positioned at the rabbit and a dog on the other side. It looks like the rabbit has a hinge on his hind legs and he would move somehow to release the sides of the pouch but nothing I  have tried works....very baffled. Thank you in advance.

What have you tried? I see a hinge on the rabbit's leg like it should pull upwards.

I thought the other way.  It looks like there is an indent by the rabbits front paws, so I thought you push the rabbit down.  I love the clasp!

This won't help you open it, but the German says:

Hubertus

Echt Saffian

Hubertus is the name of the manufacturer.

Börse means wallet or purse, but I can't make out the preceding word.

Echt Saffian means "real Morocco leather."

There is a hinge pin in the hip of the rabbit.

We see that, but it could still go up or down if there's an indent in the front. I suggest the OP send it to me if they can't figure it out.

Could you possibly give us a picture of the top, from above?  I mean, as though looking down on the backs of the dogs, hunter, and rabbit?  That might help me understand if something is supposed to slide, snap, or swivel.

And, the by the way, if you give up on it, send it to ME rather than to Janet.

Try tilting rabbit back (like he’s been shot). Sliding man back (from recoil) and dog forward (to retrieve rabbit)

I would think the guy would slide back and the rabbit would lift up - so it gives the motion of shooting. 

Edit: Art pottery beat me to it. Except the order, the guy would have to slide back first.

See the round hinge pin? It may be how the firing action is started (like a gun trigger by pulling it back or up)

The dog looks to slide or turn, the hunter looks welded to not move, and the rabbit as mentioned. This looks like nickel plate on tin. It could be rusted and frozen.

Thank you and you are correct...but iI can't get it to budge. I searched forever and finally found one exactly like it but without advertising. Apparently this Hubertus sold hunting knives and such.....
