Could depict a robin.

With no markings, just list it as Miniature Clay Robin Figure.  He is a cute little baby!

Recognized it immediately as the work of Chester Nicodemus. Melda beat me to it.
Interestingly, Nicodemus contracted in the early 1970s to have this particular figurine in made plastic, his only foray out of ceramics. He would then paint the plastic version. This was his response to complaints from customers that the ceramic version was too easily broken.
