Blue stones natural?

Are these stones dyed or natural?  The insides are white which suggests dyed to me.  I'd appreciate an opinion from a more knowledgeable person.  Thank you.

They have the appearance of dyed shell rather than stone.

Possibly mussel shells - natural mussel shells are black outside when fresh, with the inside being like irridescent mother-of-pearl.

After some age and tumbling on the beach, the outside is distinctly bluish, so it is possible these are simply fragments of natural mussel shells.

You can do a simple test. Put a drop of vinegar on a small disposable piece.  If it effervesces it has calcium carbonate in it, meaning it is either limestone (which is never blue) or a shell of some type.
