Can you tell me what the item is that the kanji are on? Sword, saw, other tool?

Re: Anyone read Japanese? Help please

I can't actually read Japanese, but I've found the maker using a little internet trickery...

Sakai Ichimonji (堺一文字):

https://ichimonji.jp/

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mydo.or.jp%2Fkodawari%2F...

Those are the main characters on the blade. The top four characters (商標登録) simply mean "trademark registration." The two characters in the last photo (特製) mean "specially made."

I thought it was a cooking knife. This is a very high quality knife and is worth some money. To add to argon38's post:

The first kanji translates to Toroku Shohyo Sakai Ichimonji, which stands for the Sakai Ichimonji copyright.

The second kanji is tokusei. This means the very best, high quality.

Hope this helps!
