eBay Standard Shipping

I am specifying "Free Shipping" using "eBay Standard Shipping" and "eBay envelopes" in my coin listings, (I am not a coin dealer). First time worked great, $.73 postage. Second time to the same customer the next day; I went to print a shipping label and it defaulted to USPS with a postage of $3.74! After a 51-minute on-line chat I was told that there was a definite "bug" in eBay's system, and they would credit my account for the difference with the assurance the problem would not happen again. Next day to the same customer it did happen again! This time after another lengthy on-line chat I was told that I was listing in the "wrong coin category" and was given the "correct category". Next day to the same customer using the "new category" the printing label defaulted again to USPS with postage of $5.73!! So next a long phone chat resulted in the assurance this problem would be passed to the IT dept., nothing so far. HELP. Anyone know what is going or who I should contact? Sorry for the long story but I am very frustrated.

Re: eBay Standard Shipping

Same kind of thing is happening to me. I'm new here and lost money on my only 2 sales because of that. No one will help me. I'm pretty sure my items are coming up wrong when people see them too.

Re: eBay Standard Shipping

I have had similar issues with eBay Standard Envelope (ESE). First thing that I discovered is that ESE is not enable for all types of coins. I found that I need to either list it under the category of "Error" or "Other" (even though most that I sell are not errors) and ESE is listed as an option. After the sale, when I go to print the label, it seems to always default to First Class, but does show ESE as an option to select. So make sure that you double check that you select that before printing. I brought this issue up numerous times during eBay Open and was told that they are working on it (businessese for don't hold your breath).

Re: eBay Standard Shipping

Good morning,

I want to use this shipping also and in my draft I don't know what to check. The only option I see is first class. What do I use to get this 1 oz shipping rate? Thanks so much.
