Hi I found this coin but I can't figure out what it is, hopefully one of you can help.
Thanks, Caroline

This is a modern token made to resemble a medieval coin. In England they set up booths at renfairs and the like where you can hand-strike your own coin. I have one. This one has been artificially aged to look antique.

Very interesting. Someone came into the shop today, eager to show me the rare medieval coin he had just purchased. It was another variety of these tokens. He was not a happy camper when I told him what he had. A flea market buy, little chance of getting his money back. These things do get around.

Interesting item.
The sword motif is typical of some medieval Lorraine deniers and half gros.
The other side is a bit reminiscent of those stylized Carolingian temple deniers.
The legends, though are unlike anything I've seen

The types are taken from a 10th century Anglo-Norse coinage called "St. Peter's Pence".
