This bill star serial number is nothing special, unless you happen to find someone that is looking for this particular #. Odds on that are low. Best to keep the bill and save yourself the hassle and problems you might get.
There are indeed fancy serial #, 11111111111111111, 666166626663, consecutive 1234567890, mirror, 1234554321, even, odds, the only fancy thing on them is that someone is willing to pay more money to get the item. They are not that common, or easily found, hence that is what adds to the rarity of its "value".

Well that's why we do this. There's nothing wrong with going through your bills and putting your serial number into the fancy serial number search box just to see how rare it is. And there are some people who collect and buy these, as you can see on sold auctions on eBay. And some people pay pretty good money for them. And the odds may be long that my bill, as you say is probably worthless. But the fancy serial number search site says that it's somewhat rare. And when you say save myself the trouble? What trouble do you see that I could get into if I listed it ? Someone might be looking for this type bill and it certainly is worth it to me listing it and seeing if there is interest. That's one reason why eBay exists is to find certain collectors out of all the eBay members. You have a better chance of finding someone that might be looking for this bill on eBay than you would posting on your local Facebook page. And then on top of that it is a star note which some people collect. Obviously some things have changed over time and this is a newer form of collecting. If I list this or not, or make money on it is certainly worth putting this topic on the eBay community chat letting People know that it might be worth it to them to check their bills. And at least they may find something interesting enough in the serial number to just put it in the fancy serial number checker. That's why I go out every day searching for treasures not just coins or currency. But any kind of treasure gold, silver, art, jewelry, ect. That's why I do this, it's a treasure hunt and you never know if you find all sevens, eights, nines ect, which are out there you're going to make some money on that bill. And that's why this site exists is to exchange ideas, find questions to answers, and to educate the followers on here. Nothing lost nothing gained.

Correcto mucho! We never know what will 'sell' if we do not try. As for the current style 100 Dollar note, it could sell because of the serial number. As for the note itself, it appears to have a hard fold in the middle of note and possibly 2 additional folds. Not possible to see if there are any 'pin-holes' in the note. Items such as this $100 note are what makes this an interesting chatting board.

How many people can fork over 30K? We have more issues with items less than 1K vs more than 1K. The worse occurs at $50 and less.

How many You tubers are established in the coin/currency industry. Fancy serial number is a term we have never heard in 50 years talking with other knowledgeable collectors.
